ולאדם אמר כי שמעת לקול אשתך ותאכל מן העץ אשר צויתיך לאמר לא תאכל ממנו ארורה האדמה בעבורך בעצבון תאכלנה כל ימי חייך׃

ולאדם מלל למה שמקת מן קל אתתך ואכלת מן עילנה דפקדתיך למימר לא תיכל מנה לוטוה אדמתה בגללך בעצרון תיכלנה כל יומי איומך:

And to Adam He said, “Because you listened to the voice of your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it,’ cursed is the ground because of you. Through painful toil you will eat from it all the days of your life.”
